adversity.

 So i was working on my senior portfolio and i had to do a journal entry and i thought i would share one with ya'll

To Suffer is to experience or be subjected to something unpleasant or bad. Adversity is the state of hardship or affliction. Trials are inevitable, but suffering is not. For awhile in my life, I did not understand this concept. I could not find the truth in it. How could a person not suffer? But suffering is simply a choice. I use “simply” very lightly because at times suffering does not feel like a choice. Sometimes it seems to be an instinct. I would have to say that I have had my share of trials in my life. For the majority of these trials, I chose to suffer because it was what I new. I didn’t know there was another choice, but there is! It has taken me many years to recognize this. We have a choice, we have agency. This is an amazing gift. Although suffering does help us to grow and appreciate happiness. When faced with a trial we can either 1. give up and ask questions such as “why me?’, “what did I do to deserve this?”. Or 2. you can look at the trial as an opportunity to grow and bear the trial with patience. Through trials I have learned to appreciate my life. Love deeper, and wait patiently. They have shown me what love my family and friends have for me and for one another. Life is so precious and can be taken away at any moment. Agency is on the greatest gifts. 

We are tuesday people

Recently in my english class with JJ, we watched the movie Tuesdays with Morrie. I loved it. At the first of the year JJ read it to us and i totally didnt listen. I am not sure if any of the class did. But after seeing the movie i read the book for myself. It is my favorite! The book is a about Morrie Schwartz who is diagnosed with ALS- Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Your body slowly dies. The book teaches many life lessons that morrie learns while dying. This book hit close to home for me because my aunt jill died of ALS. It is a very sad thing to watch happen. But here are some of my favorite things from the book:

"Once you learn how to die you learn how to live"
  
"You closed your eyes. That was the difference. Sometimes you cannot believe what you see, you have to believe what you feel. And if you are ever going to have other people trust you, you must feel that you can trust them too-even when you are in the dark. Even when you're falling."

 "So many people walk around with a meaningless life. They seem half-asleep, even when they're busy doing things they think are important. This is because they're chasing the wrong things. The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning."

 "The culture we have does not make people feel good about themselves. And you have to be strong enough to say if the culture doesn't work, don't buy it."

"Death ends a life, not a relationship."

"Okay. The story is about a little wave, bobbing along in the ocean, having a grand old time. He's enjoying the wind and the fresh air-until he notices the other waves in front of him, crashing against the shore. "My God, this is terrible," the wave says. "Look what's going to happen to me!"
Then along comes another wave. It sees the first wave, looking grim, and it says to him, "Why do you look so sad?"
The first wave says, "You don't understand! We're all going to crash! All of us waves are going to be nothing! Isn't it terrible?"
The second wave says, "No, you don't understand. You're not a wave, you're part of the ocean."

april fools day

As you all know april fools day was last friday. It was so great. First period on B days i aide for the counseling office! This was a PERFECT opportunity to prank. ah.
Prank # 1. Fake Dog. This prank was actually not done by me but by rhonda who is so incredibly awesome. She brought in a life size fake dog. This thing looks so real, its creepy. Rhonda put this thing in Richelle's office. She walks into work and then unlocks her door. She screams and runs away. It was the best thing. So hilarious.

 
Prank # 2 Key finder.  My good friend gavin gave me a key finder because he new that i would need it more than him. If you whistle, it will beep and you can find it. So i stuck it in Rhonda's candy jar and whistled. It drove her and amy nuts. This could not figure out where it was coming from! ahaha
Prank # 3 J. Biebs. I brought my lovely Justin Bieber poster to school. While principal brooks was out of his room i ran in and taped it on his wall. But little did i know that he had an interview with someone a minute later. He stood up to shake the guys hand and jumped. It scared him! hahaha.
Prank # 4 Key finder, mouse, and jb. This time i put the poster in burrs office. he walked in and groaned. I also stole his mouse so when he went to get on his computer, he couldnt. Then i stole amy's mouse. After that i put a mini horse in richelle's office, the key finder, and stole her mouse.
Prank # 5 JB again. Brother Richins and i have a love-hate relationship. A few times we have gotten into Justin Bieber arguments. So i decided to prank him with the poster. During 4th, Brooke Merrill and i snuck into his office while he was teaching and hung it up!

Overall, a great AF Day!

Once upon a death.

So here I sit at play practice with Jacob, Megan, and be ca. Wondering why I tried out. Oh ya, Megan Brindley made me. I would have to say it is not coming together... Let's hope things get better. By the way I love Megan Brindley. She is my pal.....even though she made me try out for this stupid thing. But I think it will come together hopefully..... That last part was meg. But I do agree. I love her. Well. Thank you for letting me complain. Also Jacob is making a kissing chart so if you would like to contribute, leave me a message. Thanks.
